Approach

Depth work, not a quick fix.

Symptom management is real, and sometimes it's what you need. But if you've been managing the same symptom for years — if the pattern keeps coming back wearing a new outfit — you don't need better management. You need to understand what's underneath it.

Surface-level therapy

  • Talks about the week — the argument, the deadline, the feeling.
  • Teaches coping skills for the symptom in front of you.
  • Ends when the acute distress ends.
  • You feel better; the pattern comes back.

Depth work

  • Traces the pattern under the week to where it started.
  • Uses skills, and processes what makes the skills necessary.
  • Stays until something actually rearranges.
  • You feel better, and the pattern doesn't have to keep repeating.
Modalities, plainly

The tools — explained without the jargon.

01

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Evidence-based trauma work that lets your nervous system finish processing what it couldn't at the time. Doesn't require you to re-narrate the worst of it in detail.

02

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Practical work on the loop between thought, feeling, and action — especially useful when anxiety has taken your daily life hostage.

03

DBT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Skills for the moments that feel unbearable. Emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness without the workbook feel.

04

Psychodynamic

The long look. Understanding how the earliest relationships in your life are still writing scripts you're running now — and what changes when you can see them.

05

Gottman-informed

For couples work: research-backed patterns of what actually happens between people who make it and people who don't. Practical, not preachy.

06

Mindfulness-based

Not a meditation app. Real practices for coming back to your body, and staying with what's true, even when it's uncomfortable.

Sessions

What a session actually looks like.

Fifty minutes, secure video, once a week to start. You show up from wherever you are in California — home office, closed door, parked car if that's the only private space you have.

Some weeks are talking. Some are EMDR reprocessing. Some are practicing a hard conversation you're about to have. There's no script we're stuck to — the work responds to what your life is asking for that week.

No homework police. No clinical distance. Direct enough that the work moves, warm enough that you can afford to be honest.
